Maria Yuryevna Kirilenko aka Makiri was born on 25th Jan 1987 in Moscow. She is 5ft 8in tall Russian professional tennis player who won her first WTA Tour title in 2005, defeating Anna-Lena Groenefeld 6–3, 6–4 in the China Open. Kirilenko reached her career-high singles ranking #18, on the WTA tour in July 2008.

In recent Australian Open 2009, she was seeded 27th. She lost to Sara Errani of Italy in first round.

Sania Mirza is 5ft 8in tall leading professional tennis player from India who started playing tennis at age of six and turning professional in 2003. She is the highest ranked female tennis player ever from India till now. She currently ranks at 31 which is her career highest.

In 2003, she won the Wimbledon Championships Girls' Doubles title in 2003, teaming up with Alisa Kleybanova of Russia.

In 2004, she finished runner up at the Asian Tennis Championship.

On February 12, 2005, she became the first Indian woman to win a WTA singles title defeating Alyona Bondarenko of Ukraine in the Hyderabad Open finals. In the same year, she became the first Indian woman to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam tournament at the 2005 US Open, defeating Mashona Washington, Maria Elena Camerin and Marion Bartoli. She was also awareded as WTA Newcomer of the year in 2006.

On January 26, 2000 Sania Mirza was conferred with prestigious Padma Sri award for her contribution to tennis on the eve of the Republic Day in India. At the 2006 Doha Asian Games, Sania won the silver in the women's singles category and the gold in the mixed doubles partnering Leander Paes. She was also part of the Indian women's team that won the silver in the team event. In the same year at Sunfeast Kolkata Open singles, she reached semi-finals, losing to eventual champion, Martina Hingis 6-1 6-0.

In 2007, recently completed Bank of the West Classic tournament, she reached third career final after defeating Akiko Morigami, Tatiana Golovin, Patty Schnyder and Sybille Bammer but lost to number one seed Anna Chakvetadze 6-2 6-3. But she claimed the Doubles title with partner Shahar Peer beating Anna Chakvetadze and Victoria Azarenka 6-4 7-6.

She is also a hot and beautiful model who did commercial for Sprite and many more brands in India.

Anna ChakvetadzeAnna Chakvetadze was on born March 5, 1987 in Moscow, Russia. She is 5ft 7in tall professional Russian tennis player. She began playing tennis at the age of eight after being introduced to the sport by her mother, Natalia. On June 25, 2007, she reached her career-high pro singles ranking of #7 in the world.

Chakvetadze debuted on the ITF circuit in 2001 and In 2002, she won her first ITF Juniors title at Istanbul, in her doubles debut with fellow Russian Irina Kotkina.

In 2004, at her first ever Grand Slam appearance, and third WTA tournament appearance, she defeated the #3-ranked player in the world at the time, Anastasia Myskina, 7-6(3) 6-3 and reached the third round as a qualifier. With this result, she became tied for the second fastest player to defeat a world top 10 in WTA history, tying Serena Williams.

In recently concluded Cincinnati Open where she played first time and was placed as the #1 seed. She defeated Sania Mirza of India in her semifinal battle and finally defeated Akiko Morigami of Japan in the final. With this final win she extended her finals streak to 5 matches, never losing a final.

Marion Bartoli was born on October 2, 1984 in Le Puy-en-Velay, Auvergne, France. She is a female professional tennis player from France. She is currently ranked 19 in the world in singles and 65 in doubles. She is ranked 3rd in France behind Amélie Mauresmo and Tatiana Golovin.

In 2001, she won the junior US Open title, the Australian Hardcourt Championships and Victorian Championships.

She reached her first career Grand Slam fourth round at the French Open 2004, defeating Elena Dementieva in the third round.

Currently she is participating in Wimbledon 2007 where she secured her position for final round and will face Venus Williams who defeated Ana Ivanovic in another semifinal match. In this journey of Wimbledon 2007 she defeated Flavia Pennetta of Italy in first round, Olga Govortsova of Belarus in second round, Shahar Peer of Israel in third round, number three seed Jelena Jankovic in fourth round, Michaella Krajicek of Netherland in Quarterfinal round and finally in an interesting match she defeated number one seed Justine Henin Hardenne in Semifinal round.

She is a former World No. 1 ranked female tennis player and Olympic gold medalist who has won 13 Grand Slam titles, including 5 singles, 6 women's doubles, and 2 mixed doubles titles. Williams is the older sister of fellow former World No. 1 tennis player Serena Williams. Venus holds the record for the fastest serve ever recorded by a female player in a main draw match (128.8 mph).

Apart from tennis ace Venus is also a businesswoman and CEO of her interior design firm V Starr Interiors located in Jupiter, Florida.

Currently she is participating in ongoing Wimbledon 2007 where she beat the second seeded Maria Sharapova in a straight set 6-1 6-3 and secured her position for Quarterfinal round where she will face fifth seed Svetlana Kuznetsova.

Shahar Pe'er was born on May 1, 1987 in Jerusalem, Israel. She is a professional female tennis player with height as 1.71m (5' 7"). She achieved her highest WTA ranking of #15 on January 29, 2007 and became the highest ranked Israeli tennis player ever.

At the 2006 French Open, Pe'er defeated
Elena Dementieva of Russia, 6-4, 7-5, but lost to Martina Hingis, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3, in their fourth-round match.

At the 2007 Australian Open, Pe'er made history by becoming the first Israeli woman to reach the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam event where she was defeated by eventual champion Serena Williams 3-6, 6-2, 8-6.

She is currently participating in Wimbeldon 2007 with Sania Mirza as partner in doubles team.

She is an American former World No. 1 ranked female tennis player who has won eight Grand Slam singles titles and an Olympic gold medal in women's doubles. She is the younger sister of another former world no. 1 professional female tennis player, Venus Williams. When Serena was four and a half, she won her first tournament, and she entered 49 tournaments before the age of 10, winning 46 of them.

In 2005, Tennis magazine ranked her as the 17th-best player of the preceding forty years.

She was WTA Newcomer of the Year in 1998 succeeded by Kim Clijsters, WTA Most Improved Player in 1999 succeeded by Elena Dementieva and WTA Player of The Year in 2000 succeeded by Justine Henin. As on June 25, 2007 she is at eight position in list of women's top tennis player.

In 2007 she won Australian Open by defeating Maria Sharapova by 6-1, 6-2 in final.

Currently she is participating in Wimbledon 2007 and won her 3rd round defeating Milagros Sequera by 6-1, 6-0.

Kim Clijsters


Kim Clijsters was born on June 8, 1983 in Bilzen, in Flemish Region of Belgium. She is a former World No. 1 ranked, in singles and in doubles, female tennis player from Belgium.

During her professional career, she won 34 WTA singles titles and 11 WTA doubles titles. She won the U.S. Open singles title in 2005 and the WTA Tour Championships singles title in 2002 and 2003. She won the French Open and Wimbledon women's doubles titles in 2003.

Clijsters' tour-best nine titles for the year, which she also achieved in 2005, is the most since Martina Hingis won 12 titles in 1997.

She announced her immediate retirement from tennis on her Web site on May 6, 2007.
